Did you ever watch one movie, and think you recognize the location from another movie?
My girl freind and I were eating supper last night and the movie “Gremlins” came up. I passivly mentioned “I have never watched it before.” So my lovely other half found this as a grave injustice and that’s what we watched last night. I couldn’t help but notice the “downtown” looked very identical to the “Downtown Square” in Back To the Future. Turns out this movie set has a long history and has been in many big films.
It’s no real secret that movie sets get re-used all the time. It’s just intresting how good they are at slipping it by you under your notice…and he hardly notice most of the time.
Here are some classic examples . .
The bank that Dr. Octopus robs in “Spider-Man 2” is the same one where ADAM SANDLER tries to get a job in “The Wedding Singer”.
Kermit the Frog’s mansion in “The Muppets” is also the mansion in “The Big Lebowski”.
The repair shop where JIM CARREY picks up his car in “The Mask” is also the headquarters of the original “Ghostbusters”.
The train station where Superman defeats General Zod in “Man of Steel” is also where Michael sat alone on a bench in “My Best Friend’s Wedding”.
The high school in “Pretty in Pink” is also the high school in “A Nightmare on Elm Street”.
Charles Xavier’s school for gifted youngsters in “X-Men” is ADAM SANDLER’s mansion in “Billy Madison”.
